I have a situation where I have family that live in a foreign country in Asia and they're looking to international wire transfer about $250k to America. Only note is that my net worth is substantially less than that and most of the transactions I've made in my bank account over the last 5 years have all been a couple $100s to $1,000s. My annual salary is around $40k. I'm afraid if they suddenly see a wire transfer from another country in the mid 6-digits range it might raise a red flag. My relatives are older, so they don't know how to use crypto. Is it safe to just let my relatives go ahead and international wire transfer all that to me or should I bring it up with someone at a bank? When I walked into my branch, they told me to simply call customer service. When I called customer service they told me if anything were to happen, they would give me a call. Any thoughts on this?
